Women on motorcycles through
time and space
Motophylia started out as an educational and inspirational series of articles about the history of women on motorcycles. Five full episodes were published, printed in Hungary’s most popular, yet male dominated motorcycle magazine. The publication ended, when an issue came out showing only the lower body of a poorly dressed hostess on a bike at a motorcycle show on it’s cover. High level of sexual subjectification of women is present in motorcycle culture worldwide.
The Motophylia community is inspiring and empowering girls and women to enjoy themselves and to do whatever the f*ck they feel like! We have a thick history to go against!
